Peak District Spa Accessibility
We aim to make your stay as comfortable as possible, whatever your needs. That’s why we have gone to lengths to ensure that our ground floor rooms are suitable for guests with impaired mobility – if you are currently unsure as to the suitability of our facilities then the information listed within this page should be particularly helpful.
Currently, only our two ground floor rooms are considered wheel-chair appropriate – as the building is over 100 years old, it has not been possible to add a lift big enough to accommodate wheelchair access to the upper floor – yet, all rooms are furnished to an equally high standard, and no discrimination has been made between the upper and ground floor rooms. Indeed, extra care has been taken in the design of the ground floor rooms to ensure maximum manoeuvrability for our disabled guests, without compromising on quality.
- Doorways and Hallways have been made wide enough that wheelchairs can pass through without hindrance.
- Adjacent ground level parking with extra wide parking spaces and direct level access to your room.
- Luxurious en-suite wet-rooms with thermostatic controls, power showers, shower seats as well as sinks that are made to allow for use via wheelchairs.
It should be noted that both rooms are furnished with Divan beds which – although very comfortable – do not offer the practicality of installing a disability hoist to aid getting in and out of the bed.
In order to ensure you and your accompanying guests have an enjoyable stay there is also the option for family and friends to stay nearby in one of the various accommodations on offer at Rivendale Holiday Park.
Finally, although we feel we have covered the necessary arrangements to be wheelchair friendly, we do aim to continually review and improve our facilities to ensure that they remain top class. So if you do encounter any problems regarding accessibility or otherwise during your stay, we would very much like to hear from you.
