"Excellent Venue For Small Weddings"
We wanted a small, friendly venue for a wedding with 28 guests and we had stayed at the Rivendale Caravan site next door so knew the venue was in a picturesque location. The building is attractive and the wedding room absolutely lovely. The staff there are very pleasant, friendly keen to accommodate what we wanted for our informal-as-possible wedding. We talked over the possible menus with Chef Jo and settled on one at a very good price. There are only 4 rooms in the hotel at present but there are plans for more. The current rooms are lovely, very clean and with a modern theme. Dressing gowns and slippers provided too, and excellent value. On the day Vicki and Kim made sure everything went to plan and all of our guests-mainly family so they didn't have to be polite! - said how much they enjoyed the food and how good the service was. The family all want to stay there again too.All in all the experience was exactly what we wanted and we can't recommend the venue highly enough.
"Fantastic B&B - Highly Recommended"
We have just returned from a 2 night stay in this lovely B&B. The rooms are beautiful, modern (looks like it's been very recently refurbished) and spotlessly clean with underfloor heating. The cooked breakfast was fantastic - there was also a great choice for the continental breakfast. There is also a cafe and a pub on site (the pub was closed when we were there as it wasn't peak season). Staff were very friendly and helpful. This is a lovely, relaxing place to return to after a days' walking, it is very luxurious and has more of a hotel feel rather than a B&B. It is in a peaceful setting with nice views of the peak district.
"Beautiful Surroundings, Great rooms & Helpful people"
Just back from a short stay in the Bed and Breakfast rooms at Peak District Spa. We thought that the rooms might be a bit rustic being in the middle of nothing but stunning countryside: think again - our room was on a par with 5* hotels around the Med. The only downside was that the bathroom was a little on the small side but saying that, it had everything that was needed and top quality too. We walked most of the day and then went to the bar in the evenings to eat; good meals, good value. We slept so well. The people on site were very helpful about places to visit and where the good walks were - thank you. We would recomend this place to anyone who wants a few days living in luxury surrounded by stunning countryside.
"Wonderful! A Hidden Gem!"
We had a 2 night stay at Peak District Spa which was absolutely lovely!! It was really good value and the rooms were wonderful - really clean and new with Eygptian cotton sheets and feather duvets and more like a boutique hotel in style than a bed and breakfast. The bathroom was small, but nevertheless, beautifully fitted out with marble floor and tiles.
Our room, bedroom 1, had a small balcony that overlooked the Peak District National Park where we opened a bottle of champagne and sat and watched the sun go down.
There is also a bar on site serving bar meals which we went to on the second night. The food was good, large portions using local produce, and the whole place had a really nice ambience. Also great being able to have a drink and not worry about driving home!!
I was a bit confused about the 'Spa' bit but apparently it's more of a wild spa and you can hire traditional Scandinavian hot tubs etc, so don't go expecting to get your nails polished... However, if you like walking, country pubs and you want to getaway from it all then this is a great place to stay. We'll definitely be back!!
