1. Electric Bike Hire
Electric bikes are now available to hire providing welcome assistance with some of the steep inclines between the Tissington & High Peak Trails (see below). Available at £25 per bike per day or £15 for half a day, the bikes provide adjustable mechanical assistance up to a speed of 15 m.p.h. and are very simple to use. Various stop off locations offer recharging facilities around the cycle trails where batteries (and cyclists) can be recharged with electricity, food and drink. The ideal way to tour the excellent cycle routes in the area without too much strain - particularly for those of us who are not as fit as we might be!
The Trails Triangle
The Trails Triangle is directly accessible from Rivendale Caravan Park via the Tissington Trail 100m from their car park. The route is mostly off road along the Tissington, High Peak and Carsington Water Trails. The on-road route is on quiet lanes – some of them hilly. However, the Trails are easy to cycle being either disused railway lines or a limestone cycle way adjoining Carsington Water.
It is an excellent route giving very varied scenery and wild life with industrial and historical sites along the way. The route takes between 6 & 7 hours for most cyclists with opportunities for food & refreshment at Tissington, Carsington Water, Carsington Village & Rivendale.
There is the possibility of hiring a bike at Carsington Water if you do not bring your own.
2. Rivendale-> Tissington Trail-> High Peak Trail near Mininglow->High Peak Trail to Hurdlow-> Upper Dove Valley Trail to Hartington -> Biggin Village-> return Rivendale
