Forget StarBUCKS and COSTa Coffee, we believe that good coffee should be affordable, and that it should be served right.
Even if you’re not staying in our Peak District accommodation, we invite you to stop by and sample what we have to offer; open to guests and non-guests, we guarantee that you’ll be impressed with our dedication to good food and drink, at reasonable prices.

Or, for those that want to leave their devices at home, our tranquil location in the Peak District National Park, close to popular market towns and villages like Tissington, Thrope, Buxton, Hartington and Ashbourne, makes our cafe a perfect way to escape reality and unwind with a well-prepared café menu at hand – enjoy home comforts; homemade food, tea and cake and cream tea’s.
For walking groups, cyclists, mums groups, or any other
groups looking for a local coffee shop we will gladly cater and

serve small parties without appointment, however larger parties would need to pre-book to ensure they’re not disappointed.
Our coffee shop is unique and traditional, housed within the old stone building; it has a feel that is well suited to the limestone buildings all around the Peak District area, embedded with history and heritage.

This months walk will This months walk is an 'easy-goer' that takes you directly from The Stables Cafe and towards the traditional, picturesque village of Alsop. You'll start off by heading down through Rivendales Camping Meadow, from there you'll go deeper into Alsop Dale, giving some spectacular views on a clear summers day! After a short walk you'll arrive in Alsop - which is worth a short stop to look around - after which, start coming back on yourself by heading to the Tissington Trail, which will then swiftly guide you back to us!
The walk takes roughly two hours, and is a mix of easy foot paths with the occasional climb/descent. It is an ideal quick afternoon walk, perfect for getting some fresh Peak District air, stretching your legs, and seeing a bit of history too!
